What is WWDC?
WWDC is the annual Worldwide Developers conference of Apple. Here, the developers get a chance to attend the sessions and meet over 1000 Apple engineers. This years event will take place on June3-7 in San Jose, California and this event will include a first-day keynote where Apple will introduce upcoming software and new hardware.

Every year, this Worldwide Developers Conference is held by Apple, to give thousands of developers from all over the world a chance to meet up with the Apple engineers and attend valuable workshops and software development sessions. This conference will be held near its Cupertino campus in California.
For many years, this conference was held at the Moscone centre, San Francisco. But starting from 2017, this was held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Francisco, where this year’s conference will be held. WWDC 2019 will take place from June 3, Monday to June 7, Friday.
Each conference will be kicked-off with a keynote on the very first day, where the company makes major announcements and sets the stage for the rest of the week. Although there are no hardware announcements in some years, keynote events typically offer a look at the upcoming products and set the stage for the rest of the week.
The expectation of this year’s conference is to see new versions of iOs, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS for sure. As the date of the conference arrives, we will likely hear much more about what to expect at WWDC 2019.
What can we expect to see at WWDC 2019?
Apple will introduce IOS 13 at WWDC, and it is the next generation version of iOS. The update set will include some new useful features. Features like the dark mode which was introduced on macOS in Mojave is finally coming in iOS 13. Some other features are in the work, like a new sleep mode that mutes incoming notifications and darkens the lock screen, and makes the lock screen darker.
Updates and changes are coming to apps including Mail, Messages, Maps, Reminders and Health. Most importantly, these updates will include overall speed improvements and bug fixes.
Apple is also planning to introduce a feature for displaying multiple windows in a single iPad app using a tab view, and a multitasking feature for using two windows of the same app side by side. A number of new features focused on the iPad in iOS will be there.
This is the next generation version of macOS and will be unveiled at WWDC. Apple is planning to introduce new Music, Podcasts, and Books apps in macOS 10.15. a new TV app designed for Mac will also be available, which Apple has confirmed and has said will be available in the fall.
Some other new features that will be introduced include support for using an iPad as an external display, window snapping, a Sir shortcuts app, support for Screen Time and iMessage Effects, and a revamped find my phone app.

Along with the releases mentioned above, Apple will unveil new versions of tvOS and watchOS. Although tvOS 13 is expected to be a minor update, watchOS 6 will bring some exciting features to the Apple watch.
Some of the amazing features which will be unveiled in the new version of watchOS are the App Store, new health applications, and the new complications that will show the status of the audiobooks, the battery life hearing aids, rain data, and the level of external noise. There will be new watch faces as well.
There are rumours that suggest Apple is considering previewing the redesigned Mac Pro that’s in the works at WWDC. But as Apple has not made a firm decision about showing off the Mac Pro at WWDC, it might not happen.
Tickets for WWDC 2019.
The tickets are offered via a lottery system by Apple due to the overwhelming demand and the sheer number of App Store developers. The prospective attendees enter a lottery, and they will be allowed to enter only if they are awarded a ticket. The tickets have been priced at $1,599 each for the past few years, and this year’s conference is no exception.
The developers should submit an entry on the Apple developer website to enter the ticket lottery. The registration for tickets closed on March 20, 2019, at 5.00 p.m. and the developers who won a ticket were notified on March 21.
350 WWDC scholarships with free tickets and accommodations were provided to students and STEM organizers around the world. The applicants for these scholarships needed to create an interactive Swift Playground able to be experienced within three minutes. The deadline for these applications was Sunday, March 24 2019, and they took the applications till 5.00 p.m. the scholarship winners were announced on Monday, April 15.
